ZCNYC Noble Path Talks and Sangha Study
with Jody Hojin Kimmel, Sensei
May 20, 2021
For ZCNYC Sangha Members:
Please join us for the upcoming Temple Sangha Meeting. Beginning with zazen, we’ll then listen to the eighth Noble Path Talk given by a sangha member, followed by introduction to the Faith Mind poem by Master Seng-tsan led by Hojin Sensei.
These monthly gatherings give the ZCNYC sangha a chance to share some time together and hear a fellow sangha member relate some of their own experiences in encountering and setting out on the path. What brought us to the Dharma? How is that spark alive now? How is our practice helping now? It is also an opportunity to study together.
Upon registration, you will receive an email with a PDF for the Faith Mind poem (or download this and more from the Buddhist Studies section of this page). Please begin reading this poem and come prepared for our study time together. This exploration is a very important aspect of learning to study the Dharma teachings, to make the quest and our questions personal. In this way we can engage the teachings and deepen our understanding.
A Zen priest, Jody Hojin Kimmel, Sensei received transmission of the Precepts from Daido Roshi, who began the process in 2009, and from Shugen Roshi, who completed the transmission in 2012.
