Peaceful Dwelling Zazenkai
with Jody Hojin Kimmel, Sensei
September 10, 2022
We are happy to bring back Zazenkai, a full day of intensive practice consisting of silent sitting (zazen), walking meditation (kinhin), a formal meal in the zendo (oryoki), face-to-face teaching (daisan), liturgy and Dharma words. Come join us to take the backward step, alone, together!
*If this will be your first zazenkai or sesshin, please call the Temple office at (718) 875-8229 for a brief interview. Due to the intensive nature of this retreat, we ask that all participants complete a beginning instruction session with the MRO and establish a regular zazen practice prior to registration.
*Also, because of the ongoing covid situation, we are asking that all participants be fully vaccinated and present a negative rapid COVID test (antigen test) taken the morning of the retreat. When traveling to the temple on public transportation, please remain in a tight fitted mask. This retreat will be unmasked so we can take a meal together. We will not provide COVID tests at the temple, so please provide your own.
Program price for this retreat is $75, please pay what you can. It’s important that the dharma is available to everyone. Thank you for your continued support.
