Yoga for Easing the Mind

with Guta Hedewig

March 17 - May 5, 2024

In our hectic, high-speed, and demanding New York City lives, it can be difficult to find moments of composure and clarity. How can we stay centered while not knowing what tomorrow will bring? In these sessions, we are going to explore simple yet profound techniques to help us find a place of centeredness and calm, so as to feel the ground under our feet in the present and be able to approach what lies ahead skillfully.

Specifically, we will learn:- Gentle movements that enhance self-awareness- Soothing breathing techniques to help center and relax- Chanting of peace mantras and use of sound for emotional wellbeing- Visualization and meditative practices for mental clarity

The sessions address all practitioners, from beginner to long time students. Hand-outs will be available to facilitate home practicing of the learned tools. There will be time for questions and discussion throughout our time together, and individual practitioners’ needs are taken into consideration with alternatives offered when appropriate. Come and explore right relationship to bodymind.

While all retreats we offer are free of charge, the temple is able to function by your generosity (dana paramita). We greatly appreciate any donations towards our retreats.

*Consecutive attendance is not required — you are welcome to attend one or all sessions.
