Heart to Heart Meeting in a Brave Space (online)

with Sangha Harmony Advisory Council

June 6, 2024

This first meeting is intended to launch a series that will occur quarterly throughout the year.

SHAC (Sangha Harmony Advisory Council) is excited to extend an invitation to a special gathering to foster meaningful connections and conversations, held in a space where we can share our experiences of sangha: Heart to Heart.

We understand the importance of creating spaces where individuals can express themselves authentically and be heard without judgment. Dedicated to creating a culture of care, kindness, and compassionate listening to heartfelt sharing, we will begin and end the meeting all together, and in between, we will engage in breakout groups for discussions that strengthen understanding and bond us as a community.

Whether you are a long time sangha member, new to the path or new to the MRO community, your presence and participation are valued and welcomed.

Please join our online community gathering: a Heart to Heart meeting in a Brave Space.
May everyone be respected, supported, and empowered to share from their hearts.

We invite you to review our baseline community agreements and encourage thoughts and suggestions for additional community agreements with this form (link). We will share these co-created agreements as the basis for our time together. The form also contains a space for any questions you may have, which can help us generate the content of this, and future meetings.

If registration is full, please Join the Registration Pool.

Below, we offer inspiring words from a poem by Micky Scottbey Jones.
We look forward to seeing you soon!

AN INVITATION TO A BRAVE SPACE
Together we will create brave space
Because there is no such thing as a “safe space” —
We exist in the real world
We all carry scars and we have all caused wounds.
In this space
We seek to turn down the volume of the outside world.
We amplify voices that fight to be heard elsewhere,
We call each other to more truth and love
We have the right to start somewhere and continue to grow.
We have the responsibility to examine what we think we know.
We will not be perfect.
It will not always be what we wish it to be
But It will be our brave space together
and
We will work on it side by side.

Sangha Harmony Advisory Council
The Sangha Harmony Advisory Council (SHAC) is composed of diverse and dedicated sangha members who will endeavor to represent the needs of historically excluded groups as well as the larger sangha as a whole.  Although SHAC is empowered by the MRO teachers and Board of Directors, its authority ultimately derives from its trusted representation of the entire sangha
