TGNC Affinity Group Meeting (April 2023)
April 19, 2023

Exploring Ancestors – A TGNC Discussion Wednesday, April 19, 7–8:30 pm EST Come join the launch of our TGNC Affinity Group —A support and discussion group for anyone who identifies as part of the TGNC (Trans Gender Non-Conforming) Community. Each quarter we will explore a topic related to TGNC identity and Buddhist practice. Following a brief presentation, we will have an opportunity for open discussion and sharing. The speakers at this first event will be Oliver Hartman, who will present on Avalokitasvara, the revered bodhisattva of compassion who manifests as both male and female and serves as the main connection to a lost queer lineage.  And Jacob Romm, who will present on Michael Dillon (1915-1962), the amazing story of the first trans man to undergo affirmative surgery who would later become one of the first Western Europeans to be ordained as a Buddhist monk. Any questions can be sent to the group coordinators at tgnc@dharma.net
